A$AP Rocky gav mat till 120 hemlösa under Thanksgiving

Besökte boende för hemlösa i NYC, där han tidigare bott.

Thanksgiving är en högtid som brukar generera generositet från rappare och andra priviligerade människor. A$AP Rocky är en av dom och under onsdagen besökte han Regent Family Residence, ett boende för hemlösa på Manhattan där han själv bott tillsammans med sin mamma under tidigt 00-tal. Där delade han ut 120 covid-säkra måltider, däribland till 83 familjer och 111 barn.

Regent Family Residence är en del av Volunteers of America, en ideell organisation “dedicated to helping individuals and families in need create positive and lasting change through social service programs that support and empower them to live safe, healthy and productive lives.”

2013 berättade Rocky för MTV News om boendet och hur det var att leva där.

“There was a lot of hard times in this place. But it’s not the end of the world because life is what you make it. [There’s] people out there who got it better but this is a place that helps women get on their feet — with government assistance and before you know it, things are alright.

It’s no different than living in the projects, but it ain’t easy and that’s when you start idolizing the drug dealers and the hustlers. If you’re from any kinda fucked up environment, you idolize stupid shit. Most people from that situation limit themselves when they idolize things and it’s not about hard work about dedication, it’s about power and being rich”, sa han då.

A$AP verkar hålla sig en del på hemmaplan nu för tiden och i söndags sågs han hänga i Harlem.
