Adresserar även beef med Drake.
Pusha T kan just nu synas på omslaget för tidningen XXL och i omslagsintervjun avslöjar han att han lämnat sin post som ordförande för Kanye Wests label G.O.O.D. Music. Han tar också avstånd från just Kanye, efter den senaste tidens utspel.
“He’s not speaking to me now. If you ain’t with it, you ain’t down. And I ain’t with it. I’m not budging on that. I’m not with it. I heard about this new stuff [on InfoWars]. I don’t know. It’s something that just sort of tells me he’s not well, at the same time. I will say that. It’s going to places where it’s no way to move around it”, säger han bland annat.
Push har de senaste sju åren agerat ordförande för G.O.O.D. Music, men hela året har det spekulerats i att han ska lämna labeln. Och så blir det alltså, även om han fortfarande har den 50/50-deal med Def Jam som labeln ligger under. I intervjun hävdar han att han senast pratade med Kanye när han var på turné.
“I just expressed myself. I express myself to him a lot. He expressed his thoughts to me. And he got off the phone saying, ‘Thank you. I know you don’t agree with me, but you never kill me in the public. And some people can’t wait to do that.’”
Han tillade också att det inte var något ny företeelse att de inte kom överens.
“I never had a filter with him. I’ve always spoke my mind. People gotta remember, too. This isn’t new for me, when it comes to disagreeing with him politically and things like that.”
Kanye West har som bekant gjort flera antisemitiska uttalanden och i den senaste rundan har han allt tydligare visat uppskattning för Adolf Hitler och nazister.
Intervjun med XXL pratar Pusha T också om sin explosiva och uppmärksammade beef med Drake, som kulminerade för fyra år sedan i form av bland annat “The Story of Adidon”. Och trots att vi sällan hör Drizzy adressera rapparen så händer det då och då att smygdissar smulas över låtar. Något som Pusha T inte alls har något emot.
“Every time I hear a subliminal in one of his songs, it just lets me know how deep it hurt him. Because it’s been four years now. And we still talking about it. He is. I don’t. I’m cool. But every time it’s a subliminal, I’m like, Yes. It burns, it still burns. It lets me know. I love it.”
Han verkar heller inte särskilt bekymrad över att Drake någonsin ska släppa den “karriärsdödande” disslåten som han sade sig ha redo efter att beefen nått sin topp.
“We should see. I don’t know what he’ll do. At this point, that’s contradictory. Would he jump out the window? And he wanna say I took it too far? Then he gon’ tell people. Tell the label. Tell J Prince. My God. It’s a lot. With all of that being said, it’s like I’m not interested anymore. I’m just really not.”
