Michael Jordans “Air Jordans”, som han bar under sina sex mästerskapsvinster, har nu sålts på auktion. 

Som en del av Sothebys “The Dynasty Collection” så auktionerades alla sex Air Jordan-sneakers, som han bar med Chicago Bulls under 1990-talet, ut som ett komplett set. Detta set inkluderade “Infrared Air Jordan 6”, “Charcoal Air Jordan 7”, “Playoff Air Jordan 8”, “Bred Air Jordan 11”, “Playoff Air Jordan 12” och “Last Shot Air Jordan 14”. 

Brahm Wachter som är chef för streetwear och moderna samlarobjekt vid Sothebys, säger att kollektionen med sneakers kan liknas med “Mona Lisa”. 

“While they are two distinct communities, they converge here with The Dynasty Collection. They also represent the intersection of Jordan’s championship legacy and his style legacy, both of which have combined to make him a global icon. Because of the historical and cultural impact that they represent, as a group, they are among the most important basketball shoes a collector could own”, säger Wachter. 

Skorna såldes den 2 februari på en auktion i New York City för över 80 miljoner kronor, vilket sätter rekordet för de dyraste paret matchanvända sneakers någonsin. Kollektionen blir också det näst dyraste Michael Jordan-objektet som sålts, efter att hans slutspelströja från 1998 såldes för över 100 miljoner år 2022.
