Under söndagskvällen gick 2021 års Golden Globes av stapeln, på ett datum som egentligen bokats upp för Oscars-galan. Den senare får vi dock vänta på tills den 25 april, men tills dess har alltså en rad priser delats upp för både tv och film.

Inför gårdagens gala ledde Netflix-filmen “Mank” nomineringarna med sex stycken, tätt följd av “Trial of the Chicago 7” av Aaron Sorkin med fem. Efter att ha tilldelats ett Actor Tribute-pris på Gotham Awards i januari och nyligen nominerats inför NAACP Image Awards, var bortgångna Chadwick Boseman en av de skådespelare som prisades för sina insatser.

Den otroligt omtyckta Boseman, som avled i sviterna av kolorektalcancer i augusti förra året, blev återigen prisad för sin insats i filmen “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” – denna gång i drama-kategorin Best Actor in a Motion Picture. Skådespelarens fru, Taylor Simone Ledward, tog emot priset i ett känslosamt tal.

“He would thank God. He would thank his parents. He would thank his ancestors for their guidance and their sacrifices. He would say something beautiful, something inspiring, something that would amplify that little voice inside of all of us that tells you, ‘You can,’ that tells you to keep going, that calls you back to what you are meant to be doing at this moment in history”, sa hon med tårar i ögonen.

En annan som prisades var Daniel Kaluuya och hans rollinsats som Fred Hampton i bioaktuella “Judas and the Black Messiah”. I ett tal som drabbades av lite tekniska problem citerade han bland annat Nipsey Hussle med orden “we’re here to give ’til we’re empty”.

“Judas and the Black Messiah” får svensk biopremiär den 19 mars. Även filmerna “Minari” och “The United States vs. Billie Holiday”, som också prisades på galan, får premiär på bio i Sverige under våren 2021. Se alla vinnare nedan!
