Nyligen postade 50 Cent ett inlägg som nu raderats på Instagram, med logotypen för Tv-spelet “Grand Theft Auto Vice City” och skrev att en produktion är på gång. Spekulationer gjorde gällande att 50 Cent möjligtvis skulle samarbeta med Rockstar Games. Nu visar det sig att 50 Cent-serien “Vice City” inte har något koppling till Tv-spelet och istället är en Tv-produktion till streamingtjänsten Paramount+. Serien beskrivs ha följande handling, enligt Deadline:
“…follows three friends, and former soldiers, who return to their home city of Miami in the mid-80s after being dishonorably discharged from the military for their involvement in the Iran Contra scandal. Disgraced, displaced, and forgotten by the country they served and with no good job prospects, the three friends partner with a mysterious Colombian immigrant, uniting their financial needs and criminal ambitions to form a heist crew. Fueled by the need for American green, they traverse a violent and dangerous path in pursuit of the American Dream.”
Serien ska produceras av G-Unit Film & Television som även stått bakom succéserien “Power” och dess spinoff-serier, dramaserien “BMF” och flera andra produktioner. Som exekutiva producenter finns även Darnell Metayer och Josh Peters som båda arbetat med “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts”. Regissör blir Chad Stahelski som nu är aktuell med biofilmen “John Wick: Chapter 4”.
Det finns i dagsläget inget spikat premiärdatum för serien “Vice City” på Paramount+.
