Efter sin medverkan på Saturday Night Live (se klipp nedan) den gångna helgen återvände Chance The Rapper till hemstaden Chicago och passade på att presentera en donation till de allmänna skolorna. I samarbete med matvarukedjan Jewel-Osco kommer hela en miljon dollar skolelever till nytta genom “New Chance: Arts & Literature Fund”, vilket utannonserades med ett besök på Michele Clark High School. Chance har tidigare i år även donerat över tre miljoner dollar via organisationen Social Works till skolsystemet i Chicago. I ett uttalande säger han:
“Your parents, your grandparents, your kids will pay money into your schooling out of their cheques and it’s supposed to affect all of our kids the same way. It doesn’t work that way, I want y’all to do the research. I’m talking to anyone who goes to Michele Clark. You guys don’t receive the same benefits that a lot of other people do and your parents pay the same money into the same government taxes…”
