Wu-Tang Clan fortsätter att göra sitt yttersta för att bevara sitt arv. Efter otaliga produkter och produktioner om och av klanen presenterar man nu boken som verkar få titeln “Wu-Tang Clan: Legacy”. På en officiell hemsida beskrivs den som “the biggest and rarest book in the history of Hip Hop” och ska släppas i en minst sagt strikt upplaga.
För även här fortsätter man på 36 Chambers-temat, som hållit sig starkt och relevant ända sedan gruppen släppte sitt första ikoniska album 1993. Likt Will Ashons bok “Chamber Music”, som berättade om gruppens debutalbum indelat i 36 “kammare”, ska “Legacy” släppas i endast 36 ex i 36 fysiska kammare. Innehållet är över 300 osläppta bilder på gruppen från 90-talet och framåt, av några av de mest legendariska fotograferna.
“From conception to the present day, this is the story of the undisputed greatest Hip Hop group of all time being unveiled through rare and never before seen photos”, går att läsa i ett citat av John “Mook” Gibbons från klanens management på hemsidan.
Formatet är en coffee table-bok som alltså levereras i en riktig kammare gjord av brons och stål som väger in på drygt 180(!) kilo, designad av Gethin Jones. Inspirationen kommer från ritualskålarna som användes i Zhou-dynastin – vars första härskare var kung Wu-Wang.

Printed and bound in Italy using only the finest leather and materials, each of the 300 pages is a snapshot of Wu-Tang history in the making, providing a unique glimpse into the origins of the biggest Hip-Hop Crew of all time.
The Chamber: 400 lbs of steel and bronze each individually designed by the sculptor Gethin Jones (protégé of Antony Gormley). Inspired by the ancient past and the bronze ritual bowls of the Zhou Dynasty whose first ruler was King Wu-Wang, the chambers consist of Spun Mild Steel bowls while the raised ridges, base and logo are furnished in solid brushed brass.
