Den 25 november, på amerikanska högtiden Thanksgiving, släpptes den nya HBO-dokumentären “Don’T Try To Understand” om DMX. En som redan hunnit kika på materialet är vännen och kollegan Swizz Beatz, som via sociala medier berömmer skaparna av filmen.
“Was hard to watch but can’t lie they did a good job”, skrev han under helgen.
“DMX: Don’t Try To Understand” följer rapparen under året efter att han släpptes fri från fängelse för skattebrott. Nyligen berättade regissören Chris Frierson om skapandet och syftet för Rolling Out.
“[DMX’s] Humanity comes out because those things are all emotions that we as human beings experience. The intent was really to show those relationships he has with his family, those relationships he has with his past abuse, the relationship he has with addiction. And these are all things that most Americans, or people in general, have relationships with.”
Han delade också med sig att DMX delvis hjälpt honom själv att hålla sig nykter.
“I partially owe my sobriety to him, to a certain extent, because the last thing he said to me was that I was going to be alright.”
Dokumentären har än så länge inte kommit till HBO Max i Sverige.
