Se Lil Wayne hylla DMX under Trillerfest 2021

Namn som Tekashi 6ix9ine, 2 Chainz och Tyga uppträdde även i Miami.

Under helgen gick Trillerfest: Miami av stapeln där namn som Lil Wayne, Tekashi 6ix9ine, 2 Chainz och Tyga uppträdde live på scen inför exalterade fans. En av höjdpunkterna var när den förstnämnda hyllade DMX på scen och berättade om när de en gång i tiden turnerade tillsammans.

“When I was a younger kid, we used to be on tour a lot, right. Like six months a year. We used to have so many artists we didn’t need to have no opening acts ’cause we just needed another record label, and it was just us and them”, började Wayne med att berätta.

“So back then we went on this tour called ‘The Cash Money/Ruff Ryders Tour’. See, being from New Orleans it’s so far away from New York and Cali and shit like that. We didn’t know if it was real when we seen it on TV, the New York guys, the LA people. So when we saw DMX we all fell in love”, sa han och fortsatte:

“But when I got on tour with him, and now you’re in the hotel lobby, you’re backstage, you run into a n***a and he actually says something to you, and when you see this n***a talk like how he rap, and you see this n***a is what he is, and you see this n***a has a zillion dogs with him, then a zillion dogs with him it’s impossible not to be obsessed, infatuated, impressed, whatever.”

Utöver Lil Wayne uppträdde även 6ix9ine, som tidigare berättat att han fått stöd av DMX under fängelsetiden.

“Me and DMX were in full-blown conversations the whole time I was locked up. He was in MCC. He said, ‘Baby boy, do what you gotta do.’ And I’m on a jail phone cause he’s at MCC, he was just released. One of the guys I was locked up with was celling with DMX at MCC … Manhattan Correctional Center. He got released, we stayed in communication”, sa han till Billboard då.
