Nyligen kom nyheten att Mass Appeal och Certified färdigställt en minidokumentär om legendariske Harlem-rapparen Big L, med titeln “Foul Child: The Legend of Big L”. Lamont “Big L” Coleman mördades 1999 och ansågs då ha en mycket lovande karriär framför sig. När Mass Appeal premiärvisade en trailer för dokumentären häromkvällen kunde vi utläsa att följande personer medverkar; RZA, Buckwild, A$AP Ferg, A$AP Twelvyy, Dave East, Stretch Armstrong, Bobbito Garcia och Peter Rosenberg.
Efter att trailern visats reagerade t Big L:s mentor, Lord Finesse, på att han varken medverkar eller ens blivit tillfrågad om dokumentären. Detsamma av hans närmaste vänner i DITC-crewet som O.C. och Showbiz, samt Big L:s familj. Finesse skriver på Instagram:
“I was just informed that the short doc got the green light because the people in charge of the funding was under the influence that DITC was gonna be involved. That’s definitely not the case.. I am not a participant in the upcoming short doc “Foul Child” but what caught me off guard is I was also informed neither is Big L’s family. ?. There’s a right & wrong way to do things. This is totally wrong. How do you put this together without Big L’s family involvement ?.??? Crazy.”
Även rapparen Apathy stämnde in i kritiken med ett inlägg:
“A Big L documentary with no Lord Finesse?!? No Showbiz?!! No OC??? I don’t understand. I cant even watch this. I take this hip hop shit way too serious I guess. How did y’all not reach out to Finesse, @massappeal ?? ????”
DJ Premier kommenterade även Apathys inlägg med orden:
