Kanye West får inte uppträda på Grammy Awards 2022 – The Game kritiserar musikbranschen

Kanye Wests senaste utspel på sociala medier fick Instagram att stänga av honom under en 24-timmarsperiod. Nu har Grammy Awards följt i samma spår och uppges stoppa Kanye från att framträda på galan som hålls i Las Vegas, 3 april.

Anledningen till att man stryker Kanyes planerade liveframträdande ska vara hans ”oroande beteende online”, som Complex beskriver det.

Nyheten kommer efter en vecka där Kanye har attackerat Kim Kardashian och Pete Davidson i ett gäng Instagram-inlägg – och dessutom gått hårt åt komikern Trevor Noah efter att han uttryckte sin oro över Kanyes beteende mot exfrun.

Under helgen kom Compton-rapparen The Game till Kanyes försvar, som nyligen samarbetade med Ye för singeln “Eazy”. Han skrev ett känsloladdat inlägg (se nedan) på Instagram när ryktet började spridas i sociala medier:

“Time & time again they show us that they only want to steal the culture, not allow you to ever be their equals. In a more than obvious move for reasons of minuscule actions…. The Grammys have at the last minute decided to pull @kanyewest from performing on the show as if we didn’t know it was coming.”

“Could be because @trevornoah is hosting and there was a conversation held amongst his team & the academy that led to the decision. Or because Ye’s account was suspended just days ago for reasons unknown; especially in a world where all the negativities of the world can be found on the same app with no repercussions or suspensions. We’ll just say it’s all of the above & a continuous disrespect for us & all that we have brought to the table in entertainment, media & sports over the last 100 years especially.”

Komikern, programledaren och värden för Grammy Awards 2022, Trevor Noah, svarade även upp mot Kanye och skrev i ett antal inlägg:

“You’re an indelible part of my life Ye. Which is why it breaks my heart to see you like this. I don’t care if you support Trump and I don’t care if you roast Pete. I do however care when I see you on a path that’s dangerously close to peril and pain. You have every right to fight for your family. But you have to know the different between that and fighting your family. I’ve woken up too many times and read headlines about men who’ve killed their exes, their kid and then themselves. I never want to read that headline about you.”

Senare under helgen kommenterade Noah även påståendet att han skulle ligga bakom Kanyes avbokning på Grammy Awards, via Twitter:

“I said counsel Kanye not cancel Kanye.”

Kanye West är nominerad till fem Grammy-statyetter och har ännu inte uttalat sig officiellt om beslutet att ta bort honom från galans uppträdande artister.
