Efter genombrottet på Dr. Dre-albumet “The Chronic” 1992 så följde Snoop upp med det egna debutalbumet “Doggystyle” den 23 november 1993. Albumet producerades rakt igenom av Dr. Dre och gästades av Nate Dogg, Warren G, Tha Dogg Pound, The Lady of Rage, RBX, The D.O.C med flera.
I samband med jubileet släpper nya Death Row Records en 30-årsfirande upplaga av albumet på vinyl via Amazon, Walmart, Record Store Day US och Gamma.

Sedan något år tillbaka har Snoop även hintat om att en uppföljare till debutalbumet spelats in. Skivan produceras av Dr. Dre och har den preliminära titeln “Missionary” – med högst oklart releasedatum än så länge. På sensommaren kommenterade The D.O.C. arbetet med det nya projektet:
“I plan on going to LA for a week next week to help Snoop and Dre finish Snoop’s Missionary album. We all haven’t worked together seriously — where we’re all in a creative space — in a long time. And we’re all in a space where we wanna do something great so it should be a cool week. We should come up with two or three really great records since we’re all in this kind of space.”
