"We were absent for a reason though."
Det har gått över tre år sedan Migos släppte “Culture II” och nu börjar Atlanta-trion bli redo att släppa dess uppföljare. Under året väntas “Culture III” släppas och nu delar man med sig av en albumtrailer, där fans får en inblick i hur trion arbetat under coronapandemin.
Och att förväntningarna är höga man medvetna om. Efter att ha fokuserat på sina solokarriärer och högprofilerade förhållanden hymlar inte gruppens inofficiella frontman Quavo om att man har press på sig.
“It’s time for us to crack down and bond and know about our business, and just time to get everything squared away. We’re just young men trying to grow. Right now, we’re at a time in our life we’re allowed to sit down and build and start from scratch”, säger han i klippet.
Offset förstärker den uttalade anledningen att man väntat med Migos-projekt, men att han nu har mer att prata om. Han nämner bland annat en situation där han för första gången fick en elchock av en polis under en Black Lives Matter-demonstration i fjol.
“A lot of things happening in the quarantine made me realize to get out of the box and see more of the world. We were absent for a reason though. How we were putting so much music out, you could flood the market. With everything going on, I’ve never been so political in my life. I got my first time to vote this year. And that comes from just seeing everything happening in the world.”
Det finns ännu inget uttalat releasedatum för “Culture III”, men Migos utlovar att ny musik kommer inom kort. Se trailern nedan!
