Det finns fortfarande många hiphopfans som håller den tidigare G-Unit-rapparen Lloyd Banks högt – och det med all rätt. Trots en respekterad plats inom raphierarkin har de senaste åren ekat tomma vad gäller musik, men nu är väntan på ett nytt album snart över. Efter månader av hintande avslöjar han nu att det nya albumet “The Course of the Inevitable” släpps den 4 juni, med gäster som Styles P, Benny The Butcher och Roc Marciano.
Det personliga omslaget har gjorts av berömda fotografen Anthony Geathers, som uppenbarligen också håller Banks högt.
“For @lloydbanks and his team to put their trust and faith in me to create this photograph for his brand new album is the greatest honor for me as a black man and a fellow New Yorker who grew up on his music since high school. Every moment in this blood and sweat filled journey has led to this right here”, skriver han på sociala medier.
Akronymen “C.O.T.I.” – som hintats sedan april – avslöjades i en albumtrailer som kom häromdagen. Där hör vi även Rashan Brown leverera spoken word till svartvita bilder av New York och en Big L-mural.
“We have never known life without struggle or peace without war. We have been simply faded in our own existence. But what do we say to the people who fear the choices they’ll have to make without any bit of guidance in this world? As if they already don’t have a sense of direction. Like they not sure if it’s their time to shine or stray away like it wasn’t already written. But how do we let destiny come to us? I guess until you accept it, you’ll keep on searching”, hörs i klippet.
“The Course of the Inevitable” blir Lloyd Banks första projekt sedan 2016 års “Halloween Havoc 3: Four Days of Fury”, medan hans senaste studioalbum “H.F.M. 2 (The Hunger for More 2)” släpptes 2010.
