Lionsgate har nu släppt trailern för den kommande filmtolkningen av Stephen Kings tidiga, dystopiska skräckroman “The Long Walk”. En film som utforskar teman som överlevnad, kamratskap och konsekvenserna av en totalitär regim.

Om filmens handling går att läsa:

“Set in a dystopian near-future America now a police state, The Long Walk is an annual, televised contest where 100 teenage boys must walk continuously along U.S. Route 1. The rules are simple and brutal: maintain a pace above 4 miles per hour. If a walker drops below this speed for 30 seconds, they receive a warning. Three warnings result in elimination – being shot dead by the soldiers monitoring the event. The winner is granted whatever they desire for the rest of their life. The story primarily follows 16-year-old Ray Garraty from Maine as he participates in this grueling and deadly competition, forming uneasy alliances and witnessing the physical and mental toll the Walk takes on the boys.”

För manuset står Francis Lawrence som skrivit “The Hunger Games”-filmerna, medan “Industry”-stjärnskottet David Jonsson och Cooper Hoffman spelar huvudrollerna. Självaste Luke Skywalker, Mark Hamill, spelar den onda ledaren för “The Walk” medan Judy Greer även finns med i rollistan.
