“FIFA 23” slog i början av oktober rekord för antal spelare som spelat spelet under en lanseringsvecka. Totalt bänkade sig 10.3 miljoner spelare för att spela “FIFA 23” under den första veckan. Inför fotbolls-VM i Qatar i november och december så kommer fotbollsintresset knappast bli mindre världen över. Därför lanserar EA Sports nu “FIFA World Cup”-läget i spelet, där det går att uppleva och spela turneringen med alla 32 lag i turneringen. EA Sports beskriver detta i ett utskick:
“…fans are able to play as any of the 32 qualified nations in an authentic recreation of the full FIFA World Cup 2022™ from the opening match to the final game. Players also have the option to customize their tournament experience, by changing groups and substituting in select teams that didn’t make it to the finals. In Online Tournament Mode, fans will fight through the Knockout Stages as any of the qualified nations, aiming for glory against other players from around the world.”
En stor nyhet för i år, är att “FIFA 23” kommer uppdateras live allt eftersom fotbolls-VM spelas i Qatar från 21 november – 18 december 2022. Därmed kommer det erbjudas ett än mer autentiskt sätt att uppleva fotbolls-VM i spelet. Nick Wlodyka, SVP, GM, EA SPORTS FC, säger vidare:
“Every four years, the World Cup presents a unique opportunity to unite the world of football, and we’re thrilled to provide an immersive, hands-on experience to football fans across the globe. Our first ever football game was built around international football, and we’ve been building on that experience ever since. It’s amazing to see how fans truly experience the highs, lows, and everything in between that can only be felt when the whole globe unites through the world’s game.”
EA Sports utlovar även att samma typ av möjligheter kommer att erbjudas när FIFA Women’s World Cup hålls i Australien och Nya Zealand under 2023.
“FIFA World Cup”-läget i “FIFA 23” går att spela från och med 9 november 2022 för den som har köpt spelet till PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, PS4 och Xbox One.
