Sorgen och frustrationen fortsätter ta uttryck i sociala medier och med vakor i Los Angeles, Detroit och New York City. Nu har även artister som ScHoolboy Q och YG nu har kommunicerat kring den tragiska bortgången. Den förstnämnde TDE-rapparen har fått utstå kritik då han inte postat något i sociala medier om Nipseys död. Via Instagram svarar han nu på varför han inte postar bilder i sina kanaler:
“In my dm telling me 2 speak on Nipsey… fuck y think I been doin. Same n*ggahz [sic] that call they self rap fans be calling n*ggahz wack and all that smh. I also neva said Mac’s name. This is real like brah. SUm shit not for IG… Posting rip next 2 Mac’s name doesn’t do nuthing for me, it does sumthin for u. I grieve in real life not here.”
Groovy Q är högaktuell med ny musik efter ett par singelsläpp – men tycks nu flytta fram sitt kommande album.
“Y’all got the game f**ked up if you thnk I’m trying to put out music tomorrow. I’m not putting out no f**kin’ music tomorrow. It’s not cool. I’m not wit it. Thank you to iHeartRadio for understanding that. I was told that it’s…it was already in rotation…I don’t know what the F**k goes on or how it workd but I was never wit it [and] iHeart, I guess they understand it. They pulled it down, so thank you. To the blogs that posted it all earlier before we even posted it…I’m not putting nothing out this week. Like, no. Nobody should be putting out nothing this week.”
Compton-rapparen YG delade känsloladdade ord på Instagram och avslöjade samtidigt att ett överraskningsalbum var planerat till 12:e april, som även han skjuter fram på obestämd tid.
