Igår kväll presenterades 2023 års Grammy-nomineringar av The Recording Academy. Bland dessa återfinns, föga överraskande, Kendrick Lamar och Beyoncé. Den sistnämnda har inför galan samlat ihop flest nomineringar med nio stycken totalt, tätt följd av just Kendrick Lamar på åtta.

Bakom dem hittar vi dessutom namn som Adele, Future, Lizzo och Mary J. Blige med sex vardera.

I rapkategorin vad gäller album så ställs Kendrick Lamar mot Pusha T:s “It’s Almost Dry”, Futures “I Never Liked You”, DJ Khaleds “God Did” och Jack Harlows “Come Home The Kids Miss You”. I kategorin Best Rap Song är Kendrick nominerad med den fristående låten “The Heart Part 5” och tävlar mot “Wait For U” med Future, “Pushin P” med Gunna, “God Did” med DJ Khaled och “Churchill Downs” med Jack Harlow och Drake.

Vad gäller kvinnor finns ett par glädjande nyheter då både Latto och GloRilla fått sina första Grammy-nomineringar. Den förstnämnda i kategorin Best Rap Performance (“F.N.F. (Let’s Go)”) och den senare i Best Melodic Rap Performance (“Big Energy (Live)”). Även svenska Snoh Aalegra står nominerad i kategorin Best Traditional R&B Performance med låten “Do 4 Love”.

Beyoncés nio nomineringar gör att hon nu går upp i delad ledningen med maken Jay-Z för flest nomineringar genom tiderna. Jay-Z själv skrapar utan större ansträngning ihop hela fem till denna gala, vilket gör att de båda nu står på 88. Det står även klart att Beyoncé “bara” behöver vinna fyra av nio statyetter för att bli den mest Grammy-belönade artisten någonsin. Hon har just nu 28 stycken, tre färre än dirigenten Georg Solti och lika många som Quincy Jones.

Vad gäller saknade namn på listan nedan så valde artister som Drake, The Weeknd och Silk Sonic att inte skicka in några bidrag i år.
