Se Jamie Foxx hylla Michael K. Williams i känslosamt klipp

Kolla även in mäktigt klipp där Baltimore Ravens hedrar "Omar".

Det har bara gått drygt två veckor sedan världen förlorade skådespelaren Michael K. Williams, i vad som utreds som en möjlig överdos. I ett klipp fångar TMZ upp Jamie Foxx i Beverly Hills, som tog sig tiden att uttrycka sina känslor kring sin kollegas plötsliga död.

Inför Emmy-galan som På frågan om han borde vinna en Emmy-galan (som gick av stapeln kort efter) fick han frågan om han tyckte att Williams skulle vinna pris för sin insats i “Lovecraft Country” varpå Foxx svarade:

“I hope he’s recognized in the biggest way. We need to have that. I just want people in the world to know that this man lived an artistic life that was just above normal.”

Orden kom bara dagar efter att Foxx hedrat Williams med ett inlägg på sociala medier.

“My sag… How could this be? We broke bread not too long ago. We talked about art. We talked about acting. You spoke of your mother in such a powerful and endearing way, about how she was your biggest fan. I was always in awe of your performances; how you could be so grounded, so real”, skrev han bland annat.

“I think about the night we were in New York. Our good friend Oswald Boteng had an amazing fashion show. The clothes were epic. The music was tailor-made. But the night belonged to you. You walked out. When our eyes focused, and we saw this beautiful chiseled black man, and then we realized it was you, we jumped to our feet. We not only applauded the way you poured into the suit flawlessly. We cheered because we knew you were special. Fearlessness, mystique, and pure raw talent was before us.”

Men Foxx är inte den enda som hyllat Williams under helgen. Natten mot måndag sa Kerry Washington ett par väl valda ord innan hon delade ut pris i kategorin Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, som den bortgångna skådisen var nominerad i men inte vann. Även NFL-laget Baltimore Ravens gjorde sin egna hyllning under söndagen där man valde att lägga fokus på Williams kanske mest kända roll som Omar i kultserien “The Wire”.
