"...there’s no way to have anticipated it would be this big."

“We always knew it was going to be a signature title for Korea, but there’s no way to have anticipated it would be this big”, säger Bajaria i en intervju med Vulture och bekräftar de ovanstående antagandet.

Men Netflix gör enligt Bajaria sitt bästa för att “figure out the right structure for him.”

“While I was writing season one, I thought about the stories that could be in season two if I get to do one—one would be the story of the Frontman”, förklarade regissören.

“I think the issue with police officers is not just an issue in Korea. I see it on the global news that the police force can be very late on acting on things—there are more victims or a situation gets worse because of them not acting fast enough.

This was an issue that I wanted to raise. Maybe in season two I can talk about this more.”

“Not to sound snobby but I’m fluent in Korean and I watched Squid Game with English subtitles. If you don’t understand Korean, you didn’t really watch the same show. Translation was so bad. The dialogue was written so well and zero of it was preserved”, skrev en tittare på Twitter som sedan dess fått rejäl spridning och medhåll.

“I want to point out that the reason this happens is because translation work is not respected and also the sheer volume of content. Translators are underpaid and overworked and its not their fault. It’s the fault of producers who don’t appreciate the art.”
