21 Savage frisläppt från häktet

Får stöd av Tory Lanez på "Free 21 Freestyle".

Sociala medier exploderade igår, tisdag, efter nyheten att 21 Savage blivit frisläppt från ett ICE-häkte. Den platinasäljande rappstjärnan har varit frihetsberövad sedan den 3:e februari.

Savage kommer enligt uppgifter släppas mot borgen idag, onsdag, i väntan på förhör. Detta efter en nio dagars lång kamp. Hans advokater uttalade sig om stjärnans tacksamhet för allt stöd under prövningen.

“He says that while he wasn’t present at the Grammy Awards, he was there in spirit. He`s grateful for the support from around the world and is more than ever, ready to be with his loved ones and continue making music that brings people together”.

Uttalandet fortsätter med en uppmaning att inte glömma bort alla andra människor som fortfarande sitter inlåsta i väntan på en, i värsta fall, utvisning.

“He will not forget this ordeal or any of the other fathers, sons, family members, and faceless people, he was locked up with or that remain unjustly incarcerated across the country. And he asks for your hearts and minds to be with them.”

Jay-Z och Roc Nation var som bekant bland de som aktivt hjälpt 21 Savage med juridisk hjälp och många andra har även visat stöd. Tory Lanez har bland annat släppt låten “Free 21 Freestyle”, där han över beatet till “a lot” rappar:

“Look at what happened to 21 Savage/I’m knowin’ that shit could’ve happened to me/How they gonna cut our nigga from the country for simply rappin’ on beats/That happened to reach his goals, touchin’ the souls/Of niggas that happened to be out trappin’ the trees?/Or packin’ the nines, a gat in their spine, it’s that or the back of the seat”
