I vintras släppte A Tribe Called Quest albumet “We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service” och har under våren och sommaren gjort ett fåtal spelningar för att hylla avlidna Phife Dawg. Under en spelning på Bestival i Storbritannien i helgen avslöjade Q-Tip att det blir sista spelningen som A Tribe Called Quest.

“A Tribe Called Quest, we suffered a blow. We lost our boy Phife Dawg. This is gonna be our last show as A Tribe Called Quest, ever.”

Betyder det att Q-Tip för gott stänger dörren för mer musik med Ali Shaheed Muhammad och Jarobi? I en intervju från december 2016 öppnade Tip upp för att musik kan komma släppas i en annan form.

“Stay tuned for any other incarnation, because we don’t intend on stopping… Phife’s M.O. was, ‘This time we gotta do it and keep going,’ and now he’s left us with the equation of how do we do it, but we are going to need it, and we’re going to continue.”
